Here's Hannah!!!!

This is a site completely about me, myself and I. Okay, I might include other people in it, but that's my decision so don't try to talk me into it!!

The winds of change are upon us....

So it seemed like it would never be April and I would never move. Now, I've already put in my two weeks notice at both the center and church (I quit Lane Bryant over a month ago) and I'm packing up all of my things in anticipation of moving them in June. Yeah, I said June. I am physically moving back to Fresno in two weeks and 3 days, but most of my many things are staying here until June 5. Since Simon & I are doing pre-marital counseling, for two months, I need to find temporary housing. That temporary housing is going to end up being friend's couches for a week or so at a time. Therefore, I really can't take all of my things with me yet. Besides, Simon still needs to clean a lot of crap out of his room to make a space for my crap! So after the wedding, we're going to go to Disneyland for our honeymoon and then come down to my parent's house and have a reception on June 4 (the following Saturday) for my friend's here that were not able to come to Fresno. And then the day after that (the 5th) we're packing all of my things into a U-Haul and driving it back to Fresno. Lot's of fun! Not to mention that most of those things won't be unpacked probably until September, when we get our new place. Because after the wedding, I'm going to be moving into Simon's apt. now, which is a pretty small place! Speaking of which, I better get back to packing, since that's what I'm supposed to be doing right now....

The plans are coming along

So I know it's no excuse, but I just have to say that the reason I haven't posted anything in so long is the fact that I'm (a) planning a wedding, (b) working full time at a child care center, (c) working part time at a retail store, and (c) working part time at my church. Needless to say, I haven't even talked to Simon a whole lot recently. Actually, when you throw in that I joined the gym, um yeah, I have no life. I work, work out, sleep, eat and talk to Si. That's about it! However, the plans for the wedding are actually coming along. We've set the day (hooray!!) and the location. The dress material and pattern has been picked out. My mom gets the honor of making my dress, which is really exciting for me. The attendants have been picked. I am having my best friend as my matron of honor and my two sisters as bridesmaids. Simon is having his sister as his best "woman" and his best friend Candi as a groomsmaid. Basically, it's going to end up being Simon, me, and five chicks! Well, I've always been a little different, so that's okay with me. Our wedding will be held at a public park on May 29, 2005. Um, yeah, that's only 114 days from now!! I am so not freaking out currently, but I'll get back to you on that. Every once in awhile, I stop and think, "wait, I'm getting married!" I'm planning on moving back to Fresno the beginning of April so that we can do premarital counseling before the wedding. That's okay, it's an excuse to actually live in the same town as Simon. We're not going to know what to do when we can see each other every day. Well, I'm off to my nail appointment (which I have to do at 9 am so I can go to my full-time job!) and then work for me. Since Simon's off work tonight, we'll watch CSI together over the phone. It's our favorite show. Actually, we watch all of them. Anywho, enough blathering, I've gotta run. Oh yeah, if anyone wants to know more about the wedding details, our website is www.hannahandsimon.com.

Down on one knee....

So the time finally came and Simon proposed. He came for a (very) short visit last week, arriving Wednesday evening and leaving Friday evening. The best part was that it was our first year anniversary on Thursday and Simon got to be here for that. We went out to dinner, although it was marred by the fact that I had the stomach flu (ick) and didn't really get to eat. My parents went with us to visit and after we dropped them at home, we continued to Boomers to play video games in the arcade. We really wanted to pay miniature golf, but they closed soon after we got there. After we left Boomers we went down to the beach and ended up walking on the sand in the moonlight. I pretty much knew that it was going to happen, but was trying to be patient. Of course, if you know me, that's definitely difficult! :) He eventually got up his courage to go down on one knee and ask me the most important question I'll ever answer - whether or not I would marry him. My answer was an emphatic "hell, yes" and he stood and hugged me and then we kissed. At that point, I told him that he better put that ring on my finger right now! Of course he did and then we danced in the moonlight for a while. It was so romantic and completely perfect. Of course, now we have to decide on a date!! Right now it's going to be in April, May, June, September or October. Obviously, so not decided upon at all. After my visit to Fresno next week, I'm hoping that we'll have a little more of a set plan. We'll see what ends up happening, and I'm sure more and more plans will be posted as they are set.

What a slacker.......

So I guess I've been busy or something because I haven't posted in quite some time. Since the last time I posted, I got to see Simon and am working on finishing up this semester of school and debating whether or not I'll go next semester. We're talking about moving up the wedding date, so it's possible that I'll take next semester off to plan it and get married and then go back next fall semester once we're somewhat settled into our new life together. It's all so up in the air right now!! Currently I'm hoping that Simon's time off will be approved for later this week so that he can be here on Thursday for our anniversary. Of course I have an ulterior motive - I want my ring!!!!!!! Regardless of whether I get it this time or not, I really hope that he can come down to see me. My mom & I have been plotting what my wedding date will be and where the location will be and who will cater and........ etc., etc., etc. I can't wait until we really do set the date so the planning can go forward. I know, I know, the rambling never stops. Okay, I'll stop before I make even myself sick.

Counting down the days

So the days are being counted down. Only 3 whole days to go until I get to see my Simon. I can't wait until Thanksgiving Day. I actually am going to be half in charge of the cooking! I guess it'll be my first "grown-up" Thanksgiving. We're having a friend Thanksgiving in the fact that nobody has family plans so our group of friends is getting together to pull the whole thing off. The plan so far is to get up early to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and start cooking! We're going to have to works - turkey, ham, mashed potatoes & gravy, cooked carrots, cranberry, etc. Pretty much everything you could possibly think of and then some! I can't wait to see Simon! It's been two months and that's just way too long. We've now adjusted our Christmas plans to have him come down two weeks before Christmas to visit so that he can come to my parties (one work, one church group and one bible study) and we can celebrate our one year anniversary at the same time. Of course, if he does come down then, I'll be able to come up there again for New Year's. Simon's big plan for New Year's is the two of us spending time together. ONLY us..... That's what he cares about. Since I always get my way and get to visit with everyone when I'm there, this time he gets his plan. We're just going to hang out alone, watch movie, etc. We always have a lot of fun together, which is why we're in love and want to get married! I suppose I've rambled on long enough, so I'll sign off and finish my show that I'm attempting to watch.

Dave & Busters!!!

Okay, so I suppose that most everyone who lives here has gone to Dave and Busters before, but I just have to comment on how much fun that place is. It's a total arcade and restaurant for grown-ups! Tell me, where else can you have a million dollar margarita (or two) and then play pinball or race your friends on a snowmobile (pretend of course). I went there for the first time today after our exciting afternoon at the Children's Convalescent Hospital. We really did have a good time with the kids today. We made the handprint turkeys for Thanksgiving and just generally interacted with the kids. Actually, we had such a good time that we're going to plan on going back again and next time sing to them. After our day there, we decided on going to D & B for dinner and fun. I have definitely decided to take Simon there when he comes to visit. Alcohol & arcade in one place! It's every guy's dream. Okay, maybe not EVERY guy, but a lot. After we left there, we went to our 20something church group and the fun continued. Now I'm home and tired after my long day, just watching TV and unwinding for bed....

Coughing up a lung

So I thought that my cold should be gone by now. I mean, it's been almost two weeks of persistent hacking and coughing and it's just as bad as it's been all along. Geez louise, can't I get a break? I'm supposed to go to the Children's Convalescent Hospital in San Diego tomorrow and now I'm wondering if I should attempt it or not. After all, these children don't need my icky germs on them. Of course, I don't believe that I'm contagious at this point in time. I have finally rid myself of the dreaded fever and I don't feel sick at this point. However, the stuffy nose, scratchy cough and general sound of my voice would make one wonder. My biggest goal at this point would be to recover to normal (whatever that is) before I leave to Fresno for Thanksgiving week. Yes, I said week. I'm going up on Monday and coming home Friday. Unfortunately, I have to work on Saturday morning, so I'll be home before then. :( Oh well, I'll have time to spend there before I leave. Of course, it's never enough, and it really won't be enough if I'm not at 100% when I get there. Blah, blah, blah, poor me. Of course, if I'm still sick, then Simon will be forced to nurse me back to health. Ah ha!! Maybe that should be my new plan! We'll see how I'm feeling a little more than a week from now. That does give me a sufficient amount of time to recover completely and get all the things done that I need to do. Well, I should probably go now because I need to blow my nose so that I can attempt to breathe again.
